Wheat (Latin name: Tríticum aestívum) is an herbaceous plant of the grass family. Soft wheat is one of the most popular types of cereals along with maize and rice. The consumption of wheat is growing at 2% annually.
The wheat content of protein seriously affects its cost. Numbers can range from 6% to 19% depending on the cultivation and storage conditions.
Soft wheat is mainly used for the production of flour and, in turn, bread products. Another product made out of this variety is malt (used in the brewing industry). Some part of wheat is used for the production of starch. Besides, feed wheat is a valuable farm animal feeding stuff.
